NC Fund Board

Brookfield is proud to support the operations of the North Carolina Resource Management and Enhancement Fund (NC Fund, also referred to as the Cheoah Fund). The NC Fund was established in 2005 and is comprised of the following agencies:

United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), United States Forest Service (USFS), Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), and North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC) (collectively, the NC Fund Board).

Requests for Proposals

The NC Fund supports monitoring and natural resource stewardship activities such as the recovery of threatened and endangered species, habitat enhancement, and vegetation management in the Cheoah River and Little Tennessee River basins.

Proposals for funding may be submitted by any entity, including universities, non-profit organizations, state or federal agencies, federally recognized Tribes, individuals or corporations. The Fund Board may receive proposals at any time; however, to be considered for funding in the upcoming year, proposals must be received by September 1. The NC Fund supports monitoring and natural resource stewardship activities such as the recovery of threatened and endangered species, habitat enhancement, and vegetation management in the Cheoah River and Little Tennessee River basins.
